Tell customers how you will and won't contact them

Set onceAbout 30 minLong ViewWith your customers

Why it matters: As deepfakes of businesses and their owners get easier to make, customers need a simple way to tell the real you from a fake. A published contact policy turns their doubt into a callback instead of a payment.

Do it

  1. Write a short 'How we contact you' statement and put it on invoices, your website and email signatures.
  2. Say plainly: we never change payment details by email, text or phone; call us on the number on our website.
  3. List your official social accounts and keep them secured with MFA.
  4. Consider attaching Content Credentials to official images and video as tools support it.

Check it worked: Your website, invoices and onboarding say how you contact customers, that you never change bank details by email, and where to verify; official media and announcements come from channels you control.

Simply put

It's like a bank printing 'we will never ask for your PIN' on every statement. When customers know how you really contact them, a convincing fake email or video in your name becomes a reason to call you.

In detail

Content Credentials follow the C2PA specification and show where media came from and how it was edited. They help prove what is real when present; their absence doesn't prove a fake, which is why the contact policy carries the load.

Points toward the Long View: customers who can tell the real you from a deepfake with one call.
