Secure your business social media and ad accounts
Your business pages have two protected admins, so losing one login doesn't mean losing the page.
Why it matters: Hijacked business pages are used to run scam ads and message your customers, and recovering them can take weeks. Two protected admins is the difference between an inconvenience and losing the page.
On your path if you picked “Trades and field services”, “Education and childcare” or “Something else” for “What's your industry?”.
Do it
- List every business social and ad account and its admins.
- Make sure two current people are admins, each with MFA or a passkey.
- Remove former staff, agencies and freelancers.
- Store the business recovery details in the password manager.
Say this: If a message says our page will be shut down, I sign in to the platform myself instead of clicking its link.
Check it worked: Business pages and ad accounts have at least two admins with MFA, no personal account is the only owner, and old agencies are removed.
Simply put
It's like having two keyholders for the shop, not one. If one person loses access or leaves, the second protected admin keeps the page yours, instead of weeks spent trying to win it back.
In detail
Fake 'policy violation' and copyright notices are a common lure for page takeovers; real platform notices appear inside the platform's own notification center.
If this is new to you: Not sure who the admins are? Finding out is the first step, and surprises are normal. Add your second admin before removing anyone.
Points toward the Long View: business pages that stay yours, whoever joins or leaves.
